The aim of this publication is to highlight the importance of food security and initiate a discussion concerning this issue in Uzbekistan. The report utilizes official statistics and comprehensive household survey to assess the supply of and demand for food. The publication consists of an introductory review of the concept of food security, followed by chapters analysing food availability and consumption. It concludes by recommending specific policy measures directed at improving various aspects of food security in Uzbekistan.
