27/04/2011 : From Scratch to Result: Building Codes reduce GHG Emission
Building codes have a long history. It is believed that the first building code was the Code of Hammurabi, the king of Babylon (18th century BC). As generally accepted, a building code is a set of rules that specify the minimum acceptable level of safety for constructed objects such as buildings and non-building structures. Spring wind is softly touching thin, delicate bodies of freshly planted fruit trees. The gardener is anxious to check, attend and water each tree. Today we will tell success stories of two mahallas of Alyarik district - "Alisher Navoi" and “Kumirchi”. Stories that laid a foundation for further prosperity of the community, district and region. more
08/02/2011 : UNDP efforts are remarkable
Not even a month passed since UNDP’s “Budget System Reform in Uzbekistan” Project suggested to introduce at TFI a new course on Public Procurements, and the initiative has given its results. Taking into account the fact that none of the universities in Uzbekistan teach Public Procurement and that Tashkent Financial Institute is one of the key universities preparing specialists for the Ministry of Finance and budgetary institutions, “Budget System Reform in Uzbekistan” Project approached the institute and suggested to introduce Public Procurement courses for its students based on the module prepared by the previously implemented “Public Finance Reform in Uzbekistan” Project. more
