UNDP Uzbekistan

The collection of articles in the “Environmental Indicators for Uzbekistan” is the result of a joint effort amongst various national experts from several national agencies and ministries. This work was performed in the framework of the project “Environmental Indicators to Monitor the State of the Environment in Uzbekistan”, jointly implemented by the UNDP and the Government of Uzbekistan. The publication contains a review of current environmental concerns as well as recommendations for mitigating the same. International experience was sought to assist with the identification of various indicators for each natural area and each was scrutinized to determine viability. The indicators which were selected for use along with justifications for each are presented alongside the achieved results in each natural area.
