Policy Paper "Practical Aspects of Automation of Customs Administration in Uzbekistan"

This policy paper contains analysis of the current status of the application of modern technologies in customs administration, the existing communications network, and relevant institutional infrastructure. It also studies the international experience, standards and best practices of automation of customs services in various countries. On this basis, suggestions and recommendations on introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the customs service of Uzbekistan were developed. read more

Analytical Report “Improving Legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Customs Valuation of Goods in Accordance with International Standards”

This analytical report contains clause-by-clause comparative analysis of the World Trade Organization Agreement on Customs Valuation and the relevant customs legislation of CIS and Uzbekistan on the methods of determining the customs value of imported goods. The report also analyzes the sequence of application of the above methods and the requirements for information that is used for customs valuation. In addition, it examines conformity of the system of customs valuation of Uzbekistan with additional requirements stipulated by the WTO Agreement.read more

The “Catalogue of Investment Opportunities in Uzbekistan: 2009” is a part of the investment promotion publication series designed to equip potential investors with start-up information on specific projects currently available in Uzbekistan. National Media Campaign : Woman. Born to be Happy

The national media campaign on raising gender awareness is developed by Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan, UNDP and UNFPA. Some of the topics covered by the campaign include issues of equal acess to education and profession, participation in decision-making, modern image of Uzbekistani woman, family of 21st century, preventing trafficking of human beings and discrimination. The campaign targets various population groups and consists of TV and radio PSAs, posters and leaflet. read more
