UNDP Country Programme for Uzbekistan (2005-2009)

The present draft country programme document for Uzbekistan for 2005-2009 is the result of a process that began with the preparation of the Common Country Assessment (CCA) in 2003 prepared jointly by the Government and the Country Office. It forms an integral part of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). The country programme has been prepared in close consultation with all partners of UNDP, including government ministries, United Nations organizations, civil society, and bilateral and multilateral development partners.read more

Family Assets Mobilization

This study is intended to build on and complement a number of important studies and reports, which have been produced over the last year and have attempted to analyze the extent and causes of poverty in Uzbekistan, and put forward policy recommendations aimed at improving living standards in the country. The need to increase employment and income generation opportunities is also the subject for this study. However the focus is not so much on the policy changes required to create an enabling environment, but on looking at the actual assets, which households have, and what is needed to mobilize these and use them to generate income. read more
