UNDP participated at the UzEnergyExpo 2011

UNDP/GEF project “Promoting Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings” participated at the annual UzEnergyExpo-2011 held at the UzExpoCenter in Tashkent. The exhibition was organized for the sixth time with the aim of bringing together professionals of energy industry to establish partnership and cooperation in advancing modernization, technical and technological development processes in Uzbekistan.
The event gathered key players of the energy industry as well as suppliers of technological equipment in the area of energy, including energy saving equipment. The exhibition served as a platform for communication between suppliers and consumers from both local and international markets through interaction at the various thematic sessions such as Energy, Electric equipment and Energy saving.
During the event representatives of the joint UNDP/GEF Project have established contacts with organizations interested in energy efficiency and related topics. Number of organizations expressed interest in the topic of energy consumption reduction approaches and innovative ideas enabling the implementation of energy saving measures in their buildings and offices.
Participation of the Project in the exhibition was envisaged as part of project’s activities, aimed at advocacy and outreach and establishing partnership contacts with industry drivers as well as at raising public awareness on importance of deployment of innovative energy efficient materials and technologies in the course of design, construction or retrofitting as well as operation and maintenance of public and residential buildings.
