The Human Development concept advocates that people are the wealth of countries. A human-centric approach requires a willingness to bring human choices, rights and capabilities more fully into action and policy-making. It is therefore important to recognize the need to disseminate the significance of new development thinking and how it translates into practical implementation of development strategies amongst practitioners, academia, civil servants, business community and youth. more

21/09/2012 : Distance education - more students, more time
Now, financial specialists from Khorezm, Samarkand and Andijan regions can improve their skills without leaving the region through distance learning. If previously they would have to be torn between work and study, as the training courses were held in Tashkent, and thus they had to leave their jobs, which led to needless downtime, which is no longer necessary. more

Food industry of Uzbekistan is now at a new stage of its development. According to the approved programme of measures on expanding and developing the food industry for the period 2012-2015, Uzbekistan will significantly increase the production of major food products. more

On Monday the 24th of September, UNDP together with UN Information Office will host the first-ever online meet-up, as part of the global Social Good Summit event.
