30/10/2012 : New Dimensions of Inter-parliamentary Cooperation
To extend the dimensions of inter-parliamentary cooperation a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, comprising of Legislative Chamber deputies of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives from the Institute for monitoring the current legislation under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Center for enhancing lawyers' qualification under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, and the Independent Institute for monitoring the formation of civil society traveled to the Czech Republic to learn from the Parliament of the Czech Republic. more
25/10/2012 : The National Council of NGOs of Uzbekistan is now up and running
The "Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership" project together with the National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan hosted a round-table on "Strengthening the Role of NGOs in the Implementation of Government Programs to Protect the Rights and Interests of Persons with Disabilities and the Development of Measures for Implementation of the Norms of International Conventions". To discuss current issues the event brought together over 40 representatives of NGOs, and government institutions, including from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Centre for Human Rights and the Ministry of Justice. more

16/10/2012 : Improving National Legislation to Meet International Standards and Norms
Integrating international treaties into national legislation is one of the main functions of states as of subjects of international law. It resembles a system of an institutional action for integrating international treaties into national legislation, i.e. creating the necessary legal framework for putting the international agreements to work. In addition, the system of implementation involves the creation of necessary conditions for the practical application of international agreements in the implementation of the internal and foreign policy. This allows the sovereign states to identify and retain not only their obligations under international law, but also their rights in its relations with other states and the international community as a whole. more
10/10/2012 : Сustoms control and custom clearance in the WTO member states
Over the course of three days, twenty-one officers from the State Customs Committee participated in the training on customs control and clearance in the World Trade Organisation member states, organised by the EU-UNDP Border Management Programme in Central Asia and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development. more
10/10/2012 : Visit to the Turkish Academy against Drugs and Organised Crime
Eighteen officers and inspectors representing law-enforcement agencies involved in drug prevention activities from five Central Asian states participated in the study tour to the Turkish International Academy against Drugs and Organised Crime (TADOC). The visit was arranged by the EU-UNDP Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA). more

Today the tourist industry of Uzbekistan is heavily represented by historical, informative and cultural tours to ancient cities of the country. However, a unique geographical landscape, climatic and environmental conditions, rich agriculture, as well as cultural diversity of regions allow developing active forms of tourism in the country. more
05/10/2012 : Access to goods and services markets at the accession to WTO
To support Uzbekistan’s integration into world economic system UNDP together with partners organized a seminar on issues related to WTO accession, holding negotiations and preparing documents in process of WTO accession. more
