| 18/04/2013 : Regional Director of the UNDP Bureau for Europe and the CIS met prominent women of Uzbekistan |  The Assistant Administrator and Regional Director of the UNDP Bureau for Europe and the Commonweal of Independent States Ms. Cihan Sultanoglu, who was on a weeklong visit to Uzbekistan, met with a selected range of well-known and respected women who currently play an active role in various sectors of policy making, economy, civil society and business community. Specifically, participants of the meeting included a member of the Parliament, deputy chairperson of Women’s Committee, a representative of Trade Union’s Federation, chairperson of the Business Women’s Association and director of a local NGO. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss women’s issues in Uzbekistan with focus on enhancing women’s participation in decision-making and promoting women’s rights protection. more | |  |
