Modernization of public administration system and improvement of civil service have been among the core priorities toward deepening democratic reforms and development of civil society in Uzbekistan. Public administration reform is a core area for UNDP’s worldwide support. Today, UNDP is implementing over 500 projects in more than 124 countries worldwide, covering various aspects of public administration and local governance reform.
UNDP summarized the results of the journalists contest: "Social enterprises. Social services. Social society." More than 120 articles published in newspapers, weeklies, magazines, news sites and personal blogs, broadcast by radio waves were sent to the contest. more
By analyzing the procurement processes, we have observed less number of submitted bids by local construction companies and encountered difficulties in preparation of bidding documents as well as technical papers during implementation and completion of construction works. more
"Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership" project gathered representatives of social enterprises working in Uzbekistan (a similar event was held in November last year). During this round table, participants discussed the prospects of developing social entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan and also gave their feedback on the draft practical guide on “Manual on Creation and Provision of Sustainable and Efficient Social Enterprise". Special guests of the event were Mr. Nadir Khudayarov - Project Specialist on Legal Issues and Mr. Abduhofiz Tangirkulov - Project Specialist on Tax Issues, who in their presentations did their best to bring theory social enterprises to practice. more
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the top-ranked multilateral organization in aid transparency according to a leading global ranking released today. Publish What You Fund’s 2013 Aid Transparency Index recognized UNDP for its “ambitious” efforts to publish information beyond international standards this year, placing it fourth overall out of 67 major donors evaluated worldwide. more
Today, Mr.Stefan Priesner, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan paid visit to the Institute of Monitoring Current Legislation under the President of Uzbekistan during which was held a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between UNDP and the Institute. By this Memorandum partners officially endorse cooperation and increase it to the new level of partnership. more
