| 14/06/2012 : "Green Technology" Can Be Useful And Commercially Profitable: A Focus On Biogas And Intensive Fish Farming |  Two training seminars on "green" technologies to farmers, private entrepreneurs interested in the development of biogas technology and organization of intensive fish farming were held in Namangan. Seminars also involved representatives of business support institutions. Seminars were organized by “Aid for Trade” component* of the UNDP/MFERIT joint project "Support to Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion in Uzbekistan" in cooperation with the Small Grants Programme of the Global Environment Fund (GEF SGP) in Uzbekistan and UNDP Project “Supporting Uzbekistan in transition to a low-emission development path”, with the assistance of Farmers Association. more | |  |
| 07/06/2012 : Eat Fresh Fruits All Year Round or Entrepreneurs Improve Knowledge in Cold Storage |  A seminar on "Cold chain: from producer to consumer" for agricultural producers, entrepreneurs, who plan to build new or modernize existing cold rooms, cold storage construction specialists, as well as representatives different segments of the cold chain was held on June 6th in Ferghana. The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan, USAID "Aglinks +" project with the assistance of a joint project of UNDP and MFERIT "Support to Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion in Uzbekistan", as well as the UNDP Project "Business Forum of Uzbekistan (Phase 2) ". more | |  |
| 26/05/2012 : Zaamin Villagers Learning to Offer Community-Based-Tourism Services |  Comunity-based-Tourism (CBT), also known as rural tourism, is found to be distinctive type of tourism as at one hand it offers tourists unique opportunities to experience national traditions of local communities at the grass roots level, while on the other hand it raises living standards and income generation for the rural families in the remote areas, as well as preserves their national and cultural heritage. Review of the best international experiences in CBT shows that CBT development gives rise to additional income generation for local people through providing guest houses for overnight accommodation, catering and tour-guiding services, organizing leisure programmes for tourists and selling handmade souvenirs and handcrafts.

| 02/03/2012 : Celebrating a Historic Friendship - 20 Years of Cooperation |  On Friday the 2nd of March, a beautiful Uzbek spring day, the UN family in Tashkent worked with the United Nations Communication Group to hold the ’20 Years of Cooperation’ photo exhibition, recognising the 20th Anniversary of Uzbekistan’s membership in the UN. This historic event, conducted at the prestigious State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, was attended by UN Agency officials and colleagues, the UN Resident Coordinator Anita Nirody, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr.Abdulaziz Kamilov, representatives of the UN’s government partners, and several journalists from Uzbekistan’s print, radio and television media agencies. more | |  |

| 15/01/2012 : Zaamin offers new winter recreation and tourism season |  The Resorts Management department of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan organized a 2-day information tour to “Zaamin” sanatorium (Zaamin district, Djizzakh region) for representatives of travel agencies and mass-media. The aim was to assess the possibility of attracting tourists to the "Zaamin" sanatorium for the winter season, and to discuss and obtain specific proposals for ski tourism development on the grounds of "Zaamin" sanatorium. more | |  |
| 28/09/2011 : Reconstructed Water Pumpstation |  On September 28, 2011, Mr. Jaco Cilliers, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uzbekistan and Mr. Emilio Valli, Programme Coordinator of EU-UNDP “Enhancement of living standards” project, visited Namangan region to study the progress made by the project during 2009-2011. The visit has started with the official meeting at the regional hokimyat where the hokimiyat representatives and the quests have discussed different aspects of ELS project implementation process and shared their views with regard to future cooperation in area of local development in Namangan region. more | |  |
