| 16/10/2012 : Improving National Legislation to Meet International Standards and Norms |  Integrating international treaties into national legislation is one of the main functions of states as of subjects of international law. It resembles a system of an institutional action for integrating international treaties into national legislation, i.e. creating the necessary legal framework for putting the international agreements to work. In addition, the system of implementation involves the creation of necessary conditions for the practical application of international agreements in the implementation of the internal and foreign policy. This allows the sovereign states to identify and retain not only their obligations under international law, but also their rights in its relations with other states and the international community as a whole. more | |  |
| 16/10/2012 : Increasing community participation in environmental protection |  In last two-three decades, the Saiga antelope has experienced a 95% reduction in population. This is the highest decline rate among mammals. Urgent action is needed to halt and reverse this process. To be efficient, however, environmental protection should include community participation. The conservation of wildlife should be benefiting for both wildlife and local people; otherwise the local population will not support the environmental protection activities. It is therefore important to disseminate information on the role of the Saiga antelopes for local communities among the local population, thus engaging local people in conservation. more | |  |
