05/02/2013 : Promoting Social Innovation and Volunteerism
Today the Alisher Navoi National Library will host a press-conference, which will mark the start of cooperation between UNDP and the National Library of Uzbekistan. It is encouraging to see that the Government of Uzbekistan is committing more efforts and resources to support youth - who are the vast majority of population - in their professional development, especially through the integration of ICT tools and innovative approaches. more

It is a great pleasure for us to inform you that the new version of information portal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan http://mehnat.uz was awarded with the “Best Government website” Diploma at the Internet- Festival of the National Domain UZ 2012. more
03/12/2012 : "Equal Rights - Equal Opportunities" Contest
The "Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership" project summed up the results of civic initiatives contest "Equal rights - equal opportunities," aimed to improve the lives and activities of people with disabilities. The names of the winners were named on December 3, the International Day for people with disabilities. The winners were awarded with a personal computer. more
13/11/2012 : From Social Enterprises to Social Economy
Today, the First National Exhibition of Social Enterprises is taking place - "From a social enterprise - to a social economy". Organizations participating in the exhibition are working to resolve social problems such as finding employment for persons with disabilities and social protection of vulnerable groups of population, and more. To finance and implement these initiatives social enterprises run various businesses from milk processing to producing footwear, and provide a variety of services. Their experience shows that social entrepreneurship is becoming an important source of funding for social projects, reducing dependence on external funding. more
09/11/2012 : Developing Civil Society Institutes: a National Model
“Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership” project was one of the co-organizers of the “National model of developing civil society institutes: experience of Uzbekistan” conference. Organizers also included Public Fund for support of NGOs and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Independent institution of monitoring the formation of civil society, National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan, Social Initiatives Support Fund, Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation and Regional Policy Foundation along with representatives of such international organizations as UNICEF, OSCE, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, USAID, The International Center for Non- Profit Law and JICA. more
01/11/2012 : Participation of local NGOs in regional development
The role of a strong civil society is enormous in securing social stability and successful development of the region. This is manifested in almost all aspects of the life of developed democratic states of the world. Today a special attention is paid to the development of civil society organizations, which is becoming one of the fundamental principles in the formation of a modern democratic society in Uzbekistan. As vivid evidence to this statement, there several laws and regulations were adopted to foster the activities of non-governmental and non-commercial organizations. more
25/10/2012 : The National Council of NGOs of Uzbekistan is now up and running
The "Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership" project together with the National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan hosted a round-table on "Strengthening the Role of NGOs in the Implementation of Government Programs to Protect the Rights and Interests of Persons with Disabilities and the Development of Measures for Implementation of the Norms of International Conventions". To discuss current issues the event brought together over 40 representatives of NGOs, and government institutions, including from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Centre for Human Rights and the Ministry of Justice. more
06/07/2012 : Grants for the Nineteen – Benefits for Thousands
Considering the important role that non-government organizations (NGOs) play in development, UNDP in partnership with other organisations announced a contest for the best idea on how NGOs can support families that need the most help through social services. Winners are announced. Co-organizers of this competition: Social Initiatives Support Fund, The Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan Foundation, Public Fund on Support of NGOs and other Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mahalla Fund and the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan «Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership». more
