The Tashkent city hosted a Round table entitled “Implementation of international criteria for evaluating ICT in Uzbekistan”. Promoting e-governance has become one of the priority tasks of the Uzbek Government. This is evident from numerous reforms on introduction of information and communication technologies in all spheres of public administration. A UNDP project on local governance launched an electronic document flow system e-hujjat in Djizak and Namangan regions. more

To learn best practices of developed democratic states on reforming the state and municipal governments, main risks and problems in implementing reforms, public service system, including training and recruitment processes for civil servants, budget planning and management, both at central and local levels, as well as development of entrepreneurship a team of Uzbek experts traveled to Netherlands and Germany. more

12/11/2012 : UNDP had the best presentation at the 18th Tashkent International Tourism Fair 2012

UNDP project supporting local governance received a diploma for 'Best Company Presentation' at the Tashkent International Tourism Fair by presenting tourism opportunities of Zaamin district in Jizzakh region. More than 250 domestic and foreign travel agencies visited the stand of Zaamin this year and showing growing interest to include this promising touristic destination into tour programmes for the coming season. more
