| 01/04/2013 : Introducing water saving technology into agricultural sector of Karakalpakstan |  In order to introduce water saving technologies into the agricultural sector of Karakalpakstan, the UN Joint Programme procured and transferred 6 sets of laser leveling equipment to 6 farming enterprises in Kanlikul and Shumanay districts, and organized 2-day introductory workshops and practical trainings on the use of laser leveling equipment for 78 farmers and dehkhans. Laser leveling equipment is known to help reduce the irrigation water consumption by almost 25%. more | |  |
