10/05/2013 : Social Enterprise-Made Products at Korzinka.uz Supermarket Chain

Korzinka.uz supermarket at Sergeli Block is planning to hold a grand ceremony to launch the Social Product program on May 15. Korzinka.uz supermarket chain shoppers will now be able to make their personal contribution to the development of social enterprises, creation of new jobs for people with disabilities, low-income women living in remote villages, and the revival of the national embroidery traditions by buying products with a ‘social product’ logo. more

07/05/2013 : Cold storage techniques for fresh fruits and vegetables

A two-day training seminar on "Maintenance and service of the refrigeration equipment" for cold storage engineers and representatives of the business sector involved in storage of fruits and vegetables was held in Namangan. The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, USAID Project "Aglinks +" with the assistance of the UNDP Project "Support to foreign trade and investment promotion in Uzbekistan." more

The Tashkent city hosted a Round table entitled “Implementation of international criteria for evaluating ICT in Uzbekistan”. The event was organized by the State Committee for Communications, Informatization and Telecommunication Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan(SCCITT) and the joint project of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNDP “ Local Governance Support: Participation and Partnership”. more

02/05/2013 : Palliative care: providing relief for patients with HIV

Successful combat against HIV requires a comprehensive approach from prevention to treatment, care and support. HIV infection does not necessarily mean sickness or disability – proven treatment approaches, such as antiretroviral treatment enable many HIV positive people enjoy full quality of life. At the same time, palliative care enables those of them who fall ill to relieve the symptoms and gain the strength to carry on with daily life. UNDP HIV Project joins efforts with the Government of Uzbekistan to provide quality medical aid and care services to those in need. more
