| 04/06/2013 : EcoWeek 2013: Witnessing Water Management in Action |  In Uzbekistan’s dry Kashkadarya region, ensuring effective water management and addressing environmental problems are both crucial to agricultural development. On the 4th of July, as part of the national EcoWeek 2013 awareness-raising campaign conducted by UNDP and its national partners, a meeting was held at the Ayrum Canal that provides Kashkadarya’s Aralovul village and its surrounding farms with a constant supply of irrigation water. | 28/05/2013 : The Opening of EcoWeek 2013 |  On the 28th of May, the International Hotel in Tashkent hosted the EcoWeek 2013 opening ceremony, dedicated to the celebration of World Environment Day and the 25th anniversary of the State Committee for Nature Protection. The opening ceremony of the national large-scale environmental campaign was attended by representatives of ministries, departments, diplomatic corps members, representatives of international organisations accredited in Uzbekistan, artists and journalists. The event featured the presentation of initiatives undertaken by the UN and its national partners in order to achieve environmental sustainability in Uzbekistan. more | | |
