03/03/2010 : Media training on the actual issues of microfinance and credit information sharing systems

Media training on the actual issues of microfinance and credit information sharing systems for the representatives of mass media of Uzbekistan was held on February 25-26, 2010, at the conference hall of “Poytaht” Business Centre. The given training was organized by the joint project of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme “Support to Microfinance Sector Development”, in partnership with GTZ “Assistance to Microfinance Sector Development in Central Asia” project, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Azerbaijan-Central Asia Financial Markets Infrastructure Advisory Services Project (ACAFI) implemented in partnership with the Government of Switzerland, as well as with the support of International In-Service Training Centre for Journalists. more

Tashkent, 17 February 2010 – UNDP and the Government of Uzbekistan have endorsed a new Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP), which marks the beginning of UNDP’s next programme cycle in the country for the period of 2010-2015. “ACCESS” joint project of UNDP and Ministry of Labor and Social protection of Uzbekistan announces a new contest on “The Best Business Project for Establishing Social Enterprises and Creating vacancies for people with disability”. Terms and conditions of the contest you can find in Russian and Uzbek languages. Winners of the contest will be awarded with financial assistance on development of Social Enterprise. more

27/01/2010 : UNDP Launches a New Project to Support Development of Microfinance Sector in Uzbekistan

January 22, 2010 - A presentation of the UNDP “Support to Microfinance Sector Development” Project was held in Tashkent. The project resembles a newly launched initiative of UNDP in Uzbekistan, and aims at supporting further development and sustainability of the microfinance sector. The ultimate objective of the Project is to facilitate the establishment of a viable, effective, and sustainable microfinance sector by consolidating efforts of all stakeholders including relevant government agencies and mobilizing support of international donors and financial institutions. more
